  • 2 Nights at Arusha Planet Lodge

    Your on foot venture begins

Your driver/guide will pick you up from Kilimanjaro airport and transfers you to Arusha Planet Lodge. This is a pleasant lodge with a beautiful garden and swimming pool, nestled on the lower slopes of majestic Mount Meru. The Arusha Planet Lodge has been welcoming mountain climbers and safari travelers to northern Tanzania for decades. This beautiful Swahili sanctuary is ideally located and tucked away beneath ancient trees on the outskirts of Arusha town. Harmoniously woven into the surrounding African landscape, you will comfortably stay in your private bungalow reminiscent of a traditional Swahili ‘boma’. This version of the Boma features a round layout with thatched rooftops while still providing you with the western conveniences for ultimate comfort.

The following morning after a tasty breakfast you will be picked up from the lodge, In about 1 hour you drive to Arusha National Park, a small park of 137 km², with remarkable sights, including the fourth highest mountain in Africa, Mount Meru (4566m). Arusha National Park is special because it is one of the few parks in Tanzania where you have the opportunity to do a safari by foot.

An armed ranger will be waiting for you to accompany you on your exciting walking safari. During this activity you get the chance to experience the wildlife up-close, a totally different experience than game- viewing by car. Buffalo, waterbuck, giraffe, warthog, zebra, bush-buck and of course the naughty baboons can be seen all year round as well as many different bird species. The walking safari takes 2 to 3 hours Lunch will be at a quiet picnic spot and then in the afternoon, you continue your safari by vehicle. At sunset, you will return to the lodge for a good night sleep.

    Continue your journey to

  • 1 Night at Lake Burunge Tented Camp

    Arusha – Tarangire National Park

Today, after an early breakfast, you will be traveling to Tarangire National Park. Tarangire is best known for its many gigantic baobab trees and its large herds of elephants; it is a home to approximately 2,500 individuals and large herds are regularly viewed. Elephants gathering at the Tarangire River to drink make for a perfect panoramic picture! You can also spot many different animals like leopard, zebra, impala, warthog, eland, buffalo, waterbuck and lion. Also the birders will have so much to see; more than 500 different bird-species are present.

This park hosts the biggest concentration of wildlife outside the Serengeti. Also it is the only place in Tanzania where the oryx and gerenuk are regularly spotted. Your driver/guide will have a lunch-box for you so you can picnic at a beautiful spot in the park. After your lunch, your safari continues

    Continue your journey to

  • 2 Nights at Bougainvillea Safari Lodge.

Tarangire – Lake Manyara National Park

After breakfast drive to Lake Manyara National Park for full day game drive with packed lunch via the remote South gate. After exploring the wildlife, birdlife and landscape of the park, you will be driven to the Ngorongoro Farm House. Exploring Lake Manyara National Park presents the opportunity to sight the surprising habitat for lion prides that are renowned for lounging on the trees and spotting potential prey on the grassy shores of the lake. On the dry land, large herds of buffalo, Maasai Giraffe and impala are common sightings and photographing. Bird watching is superb around the park which has a myriad of shimmering flamingos and other species spotted around the soda lake.

After breakfast drive to ‘Mto wa Mbu’. The bustling farming community of Mto Wa Mbu is home to around 18,000 people. On this walk you’ll discover a side of Tanzania many visitors miss out on. A melting pot of cultures; Mto Wa Mbu is thought to be one of the only places in Tanzania where there are representatives from all 120 tribes living happily side by side. During your visit you’ll get a good feel for the social side of the village – the farms and the milling machines, the schools, markets and churches. You’ll likely visit the village banana plantation as well as a youth art project, and a wood workshop where you can watch skilled Makonde tribe members carve intricate figurines, masks and household objects. The length of the tour is very flexible but generally last around 2–3 hours.

    Continue your journey to

  • 2 Nights at Thorn Tree Camp.

    Karatu – Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, depart towards the most famous National Park in the World, the Serengeti. The driving itself, although long, is spectacular. This will be an unforgettable moment for anyone seeing it for the first time. As you progress well into the Serengeti, you will see why the name means, in local language, "endless plains". The park has 6,900 sq. mile (18,000 sq. km) and for most of it, the plains will stretch to the horizon defying your senses and perception of distances. It is the home of the Great Migration and to 2 million wildebeests, hundreds of thousands of zebras and all kinds of antelopes. As for Big Cats and large predators, it's the place of choice to look out for lions, cheetahs, leopards, hyenas, with many television scenes like the famous river crossings having been filmed in this park. Afternoon game drive.

An optional Hot Air Balloon Safari can be added (not included in price) to the tour any of the days in the Serengeti, providing a spectacular opportunity to view the game from the air.

Full day in the Serengeti National Park. We are completely flexible with your preferences and this day will be organized according to your wishes. On every day of the safari, your guide will discuss with you the best timings for you, including the game drives and the wake-up time. For example, on this day, you could do a morning game drive, return to the camp for lunch and relaxation and finish with an afternoon game drive, or you could do a full day game drive with picnic lunch.

    Continue your journey to

  • 1 Night at Tloma Lodge

    Serengeti - Ngorongoro Crater

After early breakfast, drive to Ngorongoro Crater, inhabited by almost every species of wildlife indigenous to East Africa including the rare black rhino. In fact, the crater has the greatest concentration of wild life in the planet. It contains a river, several swamps, a soda lake that, from the top, looks like steam, full of flamingos, a forest and open plains. The large bull elephants that reside here have extremely large tusks, due to the rich mineral content of the volcanic soil and its grasses, after game drive in the crater proceed to the lodge for overnight.
